I heard about this phenomenon for the first time when I discovered Pinterest (which there should be a 12-step program for, because I’m addicted).
“NaNoWriMo” is the abbreviation for National Novel Writing Month, which is November. The challenge is to get an entire novel started and finished in 30 days. As someone who has previously taken YEARS to bang out several novel-length works (don’t ask–I’m not telling), I never bothered to try this. I didn’t think that it was possible, and I wasn’t ready to prove myself wrong.
This year, instead of laughing at the concept, I’ve decided to step up to the challenge. Despite my previous cringe-worthy work, I’ve still got a story inside me that longs to be told. And it’s not letting me go, despite years of writer’s block and do-overs.
So I’m giving this a try. Let’s see where this goes.
I just began “following” your blog. I look forward to reading more of your writing, including the novel you are working on.
May the Lord continue to bless the work of your hands. Amen.
