This is not fiction. This is very real.
Last Friday afternoon (January 12, 2017), my mother—who has Alzheimer’s disease–walked outside her friend’s apartment and never came back.
For the past five days, I have been trying to get the word out to as many people possible. The news stations said that they would run the story last night. That didn’t happen. I have been sharing on Facebook and contacting any other media outlet that I can think of. All the information that we have only covers the day that she left. No one has seen her for five days.
I am experiencing new levels of panic. Every night since she left has been below freezing. I’m getting mental images of where she could be, who may have gotten to her, or what condition she may be in. And I can’t get the news to care, because they care more about running Trump stories than putting my mother’s face on national TV.
Thank God for social media.
Please share this post as much as you can. My mother has nothing on her but a housekey to the apartment. No cell phone, no wallet, no hat, no gloves, and no winter coat. She is very disoriented and may not be able to tell you her name, address, or telephone number. If you see her, call the police. Keep her there, and call the police!
I don’t know what else to do. Please help.
